Thrown Elements classes

New Class sessions are starting all the time, please contact us to sign-up today! Want to start late? We pro-rate!

Young Children
Ages 6-12, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, 4-5pm or 5-6pm, $120 Classes are 1 hour and focus on hand-building techniques.

Pre-Teen/Teen Classes Ages 10-15, Sunday, 4-6pm or Saturday 3-5pm, $180 Classes are two hours and focus on basic hand-building, wheel-throwing and glazing techniques.

Adult Beginner Classes Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 6-9pm and Sunday from 10am-1pm, $250 Learn the basics of wheel-throwing and hand-building.

Adult Intermediate/Advanced Classes Monday from 10am-1pm, Tuesday and Thursday, 6-9pm, and Saturday 9am-12pm, $250 Focus on altered forms, combining thrown elements, surface treatments and more.

beginning classes

Take one of our 8-week classes to learn the basics of wheel-throwing and hand-building. Whether you’ve never touched clay in your life or you’ve thrown before and need some refreshing, you will learn/relearn how to:

  • wedge
  • center
  • pull
  • shape
  • trim

Once you get a feel for it, create basic functional items such as bowls, plates, mugs, and vases.

Create functional and sculptural objects use basic hand-building techniques such as:

  • pinch pot
  • coil
  • mold
  • slab building
  • extruding 

intermediate/advanced classes

Already mastered the basics of wheel-throwing? Want to work more independently and gain constructive feedback? Use a range of techniques to achieve your own technical and conceptual goals. These classes focuses on altered forms, combining thrown elements, surface treatments and more! This class is for adults only.
