Thrown Elements classes

Scouts thrown elements pottery

Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Indian Princesses, Daisies, Brownies and Scouts of all ages love Thrown Elements Pottery! And we love working with scouts!

Our customized instruction meets all pottery-related badge requirements.

Encourage your troop to “free their inner artist” while earning their scouting badges. We offer instruction on:

  • Clay slab construction
  • Clay coil construction
  • Pinch pottery
  • Wheel-throwing
  • Glazing
  • And tours and demonstrations of kiln operations

Scouting packages are customised to your groups needs and range from one and a half to three hour experiences, and pricing ranges from $15-$25 per person all inclusive.

We take care of all the details including supplies, hand-on instruction,
food-safe firing and individual packaging of each child’s creation.  Plus,
each Scout receives a $5 gift certificate for a return visit to Thrown
Elements Pottery!

“The Thrown Elements venue is great and well worth the money! Our Boy Scouts did a project, toured the studio, saw the kilns, painted their creations and earned their badges. As a result, my son the ‘non–artist’ was completely inspired and hooked—he wants to sign up for wheel-throwing classes!”
~Ellen Burkhart, Pack 130, Webelos I, Den I

“Our Girl Scouts absolutely loved their experience today at Thrown Elements. They were so happy and proud of what they were able to create. Ed was a wonderful and patient instructor. He did such a great job teaching them. We can't thank him enough for his great work.”
~Alexis F. Zayed, Girl Scout Leader
