About Our Founder
Jeanmarie Dwyer-Wrigley, M.S., has been facilitating women’s groups in Chicago and the northwest suburbs since 1979.
Her achievements include cofounding “A Woman’s Place,” a drop-in center for homeless women in Rogers Park, Chicago. She opened the doors of WomensWisdom in 1993.
She was awarded the Marilyn Gorski Service Award from Loyola Mundelein University for her work with homeless women. She also received an Appreciation Award for her work with Asian women from the Naperville/Lisle Women’s Association. She has also appeared on several cable television shows regarding self-esteem and empowerment.
She received her Masters of Science Degree from National Louis University in Evanston with a concentration on addictions counseling.
She is member of NOW, code pink, Women for Women (an international organization helping women in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan), and is an animal rights activist.
