About The Actress

Jeanmarie Dwyer-Wrigley began her acting career as a child when she wowed her family audience with the stuffed toys performances of “Andy Pandy Adventures.” Her first leading role came while she was in the eighth grade in a play she can’t remember the name of.

After taking time to raise a family, receive an education and work full time, her next role was the word “what?” off stage. The rave reviews inspired her to audition and get parts in “Arsenic and Old Lace,” “Elephant Man,” “Cabaret,” “Nation of Strangers,” and “Strange Bedfellows” to name a few.

Falling back on her success in directing stuffed toys she turned to directing real people in “Wait Until Dark,” “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,” “Vagina Monologues” and countless others.

She has also choreographed musicals, including “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Wizard of Oz” and “Godspell.”

She is one of the cofounders of the Mount Prospect D.R.A.M.M.A. Society and held the position of president for five years.

She founded Artists’ Theatre of the Divine Feminine in 2000 and Society of Women Storytellers in 2003.

She hosted Schaumburg’s TV cable show, “Schaumburg Heartbeat” for two years.

With two other actresses, she is currently a member of “Amazing Women History Theatre,” a traveling acting troup.

She lives in the northwest Chicago suburbs with her husband, three cats, a visiting possum and an aggressive midnight visiting skunk. She is the proud grandmother of two teenagers.

My Philosophy

I am a lover of life for I believe life romances me and I romance life. Like in any relationship we have our ups and downs. Sometimes I wish life would be a little less harsh with me. It is during these times I ask the question: “Why do I have to learn these lessons the hard way?” But then there are times when life is gentle with me. It is in those times I ask: “Why can’t this go on forever?

Still, whatever comes my way I love life and I love the people in my life. For I am living the greatest romance of my life, life itself. It doesn’t get any better than that.
