882 Series Instrument Approved by VESA® for DisplayPort™ 1.1a Link Layer Compliance Testing
Approval covers link layer tests for source and sink devices in accordance with the DisplayPort Certified Logo Program
Elgin IL – December 9, 2009 – Quantum Data™, a worldwide provider of video test equipment, announced that their 882E test instrument has been approved by VESA for DisplayPort link layer compliance testing. The approval includes compliance testing for both DisplayPort source and sink products against the requirements of the DisplayPort Certified Logo Program which currently uses version 1.1a of the link layer compliance test specification.
The approved link layer compliance test solutions offered by Quantum Data enable developers of DisplayPort products to perform fast and comprehensive compliance tests. Operation is simple. The compliance tests are initiated through a user friendly graphical application. Developers can run tests in batch mode or individually. When a test series has been completed, the system issues a pass/fail result for each individual test. Reports can be viewed online, transferred over a network or printed.
The 882E provides other useful features for testing link layer interoperability. The 882E offers an optional feature for link layer transaction logging-the auxiliary channel analyzer-that enables developers to monitor link layer transactions in real time during normal operation or during a link layer compliance test. Developers of DisplayPort source devices can utilize the custom link training feature to force particular values into the 882E reference sink to test their source’s handling of specific sink DPCD behaviors.
