Quantum Data products provide a variety of solutions for testing HDMI devices and products in R&D development lab environment. The following is a summary of products that provide functional and interoperability test solutions for HDMI.

  • 980 HDMI Protocol Analyzer module. The 980 HDMI Protocol Analyzer module supports deep analysis of HDMI and MHL streams as well as HDMI and MHL compliance testing for source, sink, repeater/dongle devices. For HDMI the tool provides full visibility into the HDMI protocol, timing, control and auxiliary data up to 300MHz (HDMI) which supports testing of HDMI 2.0 4K Ultra HD sources at 50/60Hz using 4:2:0 pixel encoding. For MHL the module supports analysis of MHL 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 source devices.
  • 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module. The 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module supports video and audio functional testing of HDMI 2.0 sink devices at TMDS characters rates up to 600MHz for testing ultra high definition HDTVs with 4K x 2K resolutions running at 50/60Hz. The 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module also supports HDMI Forum-approved compliance testing for HDMI 2.0 sink tests at pixel rates up to 600MHz.
  • 980 HDMI 2.0 Protocol Analyzer module. The 980 HDMI 2.0 Protocol Analyzer module supports deep analysis and compliance testing of HDMI 2.0 streams up to 600MHz. The module also supports HDMI 2.0 compliance testing for source devices. For HDMI the tool provides full visibility into the HDMI metadata, timing data, video data, control and auxiliary data up to 600MHz (HDMI) which supports testing of HDMI 2.0 4K Ultra HD sources at 50/60Hz.
  • 980 HDMI Video Generator module. The 980 HDMI Video Generator module supports video and audio functional testing at data rates up to 300MHz for testing 4K Ultra HD TVs at 50/60Hz. The module features two (2) HDMI outputs—both active simultaneously—for testing HDTVs with multiple HDMI inputs. The module also optionally supports analysis functions for testing source devices such as basic video analysis. The module now supports NEW! HDMI 2.0 test features for 1) 4K Ultra HD TVs at 50/60Hz using 4:2:0 pixel encoding, 2) 21:9 formats up to 300MHz and reading and 3) displaying EDIDs with HDMI 2.0 capabilities.
  • 780 series handheld test instruments. The 780 series handheld test instruments for HDMI® are battery-powered (except 780C), portable video and audio generators and HDMI analyzers that offer a rich variety of functional tests for development engineers and test engineers in the R&D environment. The 780 series instruments are equipped with both a reference HDMI source and a reference HDMI sink interface allowing you to test audio, video and HDMI protocols—HDCP, EDID, CEC & infoframes—of any type of HDMI device: sources, repeaters and sinks.
  • The rack mountable 804 Video Test Generators support HDMI testing at pixel rates ranging from 165 MHz and TMDS rates to 600MHz. The instruments provides RGB and component analog outputs as well as composite video. The 804 series instruments offer an extensive library of format timings and provide standard test patterns and protocol test images (EDID, HDCP, CEC) necessary for testing HDMI 1.4 and 2.0 HDTVs. The module and its functions can be controlled through the command line via USB or RS-232 for control from an automated test system (ATS).

 

 

 

 

 

Quantum Data products provide a variety of solutions for testing DisplayPort sinks and optionally sources in the R&D development lab environment. The following is a summary of products that provide functional and interoperability test solutions for DisplayPort.

  • 980 DP Video Generator module. The 980 DP1.2 Video Generator / Analyzer module supports video, audio and protocol functional testing high-end DP 1.2 displays. The module supports HBR2 data rates including 1.63, 2.70 & 5.40 Gbps on 1, 2 & 4 lanes on both its Tx ports and its Rx port. The module features two DisplayPort 1.2 outputs—both active simultaneously—for testing displays with multiple DisplayPort inputs. The 980 DP1.2 Video Generator module is equipped with all the standard video timings and test patterns necessary for testing modern displays. The DP 1.2 module’s optional Rx analyzer port emulates a DisplayPort 1.2 display device including EDID and DPCD emulation, Rx Link Training function and MST Rx function.
  • 882E-DP Video Test Instrument. The DisplayPort 1.1 provides pattern testing at pixel rates up to 268 MHz. An analog option with 250 MHz analog output and composite analog for NTSC and PAL testing is available as well with the HDMI transmitter only configuration.
  • 882EA-DP Multimedia Test Instrument. The 882EA-DP Multimedia Test Instrument provides two (2) DisplayPort transmit (Output) ports and two (2) DisplayPort receive (Input) ports for testing both DP source and sink devices. The 882EA-DP instrument can optionally support industry approved DisplayPort Link Layer testing as well as HDCP 1.4 compliance test for DisplayPort sink devices.

Quantum Data products provide a variety of solutions for testing MHL devices in the R&D development lab environment. The following is a summary of products that provide functional and interoperability test solutions for MHL devices.

  • 980 HDMI Protocol Analyzer module. Provides deep visibility into MHL (and HDMI) timing data, metadata, control data and auxiliary data through capture/store functions. The module also provides real time monitoring of these data types for incoming MHL video streams. Functional testing of MHL devices with the 980 HDMI Protocol Analyzer module requires the use of a Quantum Data Test Point Adapter (TPA-MHL2-8R). (The module also supports compliance testing for MHL source and sink devices.) The HDMI Protocol Analyzer module can be equipped in any of the 980 series Advanced Test Platforms.
  • 980 HDMI Video Generator module. Provides video, audio and protocol functional testing for MHL sink devices and source devices through the Quantum Data Test Point Adapter (TPA-MHL2-8R). The HDMI Video Generator module can be equipped in any of the 980 series Advanced Test Platforms.
  • 780 series handheld test instruments. The 780 series are convenient handheld test instruments for functional testing of MHL products with the Quantum Data Test Point Adapter (TPA-MHL2-8R).
  • 804 Series Video Generators. The 804 Video Generators provide functional testing of HDMI products. The 804 series test instruments although is ideally suited for testing in the manufacturing environment can be used for running functional tests on MHL sink devices with the Quantum Data Test Point Adapter (TPA-MHL2-8R).

 

 

Quantum Data supports HDBaseT testing for the R&D lab through the HDMI interface of its test instruments and the new 780C Multi-Interface Interoperability Tester which is equipped with both an HDBaseT Tx port and an HDBaseT Rx port. The following products support functional testing and interoperability testing for HDBaseT products.

  • 980 HDMI Protocol Analyzer module. Provides deep visibility into HDMI timing data, metadata, control data and auxiliary data through capture/store functions. The module also provides real time monitoring of these data types for incoming HDMI video streams. Monitoring HDBaseT video streams requires the use of an HDMI/HDBaseT converter device. The HDMI Protocol Analyzer module can be equipped in any of the 980 series Advanced Test Platforms.
  • 980 HDMI Video Generator module. Provides video, audio and protocol functional testing for HDBaseT sink devices and source devices through an HDMI/HDBaseT converter. The HDMI Video Generator module can be equipped in any of the 980 series Advanced Test Platforms.
  • 780C Multi-Interface Interoperability Tester. The 780C is a handheld test instrument for functional testing of HDMI, HDBaseT and SDI source and sink devices. The 780C test instrument can a variety of functional tests on HDBaseT sources and sinks. The 780 series is ideally suited for testing in the field given its convenient size and form factor but many Quantum Data customers use the 780C in their development labs as well.
  • The 780D HDMI Protocol Analyzer / Generator. 600MHz for UHD Testing is a handheld digital video generator and analyzer that enables you to run tests on various digital video devices and network distribution devices on site or in the R&D lab. The 780D instrument provides a 7 inch color touch screen for operation and for viewing status of outgoing and incoming video and audio. The 780D is equipped with multiple interface types including HDMI, HDBaseT, and component analog. The HDMI Tx and Rx ports operate up to 600MHz for testing of 4K Ultra HD HDMI 2.0 devices at 50/60Hz with 4:4:4 pixel encoding. The HDBaseT Tx and Rx ports operate at 300MHz for testing of 4K Ultra HD HDMI 2.0 devices at 50/60Hz with 4:2:0 pixel encoding. Testing digital interfaces is supported by both an output port and an input port to allow testing of digital video sources, displays, audio devices and distribution devices. Testing hybrid converter devices supporting HDMI, HDBaseT distribution networks is a key application of the 780D as well.

  • 780C Multi-Interface Interoperability Tester. The 780C is a handheld test instrument for functional testing of HDMI, HDBaseT and SDI source and sink devices. The 780C test instrument can a variety of functional tests on 3G-SDI sources and sinks. The 780 series is ideally suited for testing in the field given their convenient size and form factor but many Quantum Data customers use the 780C in their development labs as well.
  • 980 12G-SDI Video Generator / Analyzer. The 980 12G SDI module is equipped with four (4) SDI inputs and four (4) SDI outputs that can be independently configured for multiple single-link or dual-link, mixed single-link and dual-link, or quad-link operation. Links independently adapt to SD, HD, 3G, 6G, and 12G rates.
