Quantum Data Announces 780A Handheld Test Instrument for HDMI
Supports testing of HDMI 1.4 devices up to 297MHz with 4K-capability
Elgin IL – April 22, 2013 – Quantum Data™, a worldwide provider of video test equipment, today announced the release of a new 780 series Handheld Test Instrument—the 780A. The 780A is identical to the 780 in form and operation and includes all the 780 features but supports HDMI 1.4 speeds of 297MHz on both its HDMI Tx and Rx ports. This enables engineers and A/V installers to test 4K-capable HDMI sources, sinks and repeaters.
There are several new features planned for the 780A beyond the rich set provided by the 780. The 780A will support 4:2:0 pattern testing and analysis of 4:2:0 HDMI incoming streams. Incoming HDMI video streams at the HDMI Rx port will be able to be passed through to the HDMI Tx port. This will enable viewing of the incoming video on an attached HDTV. The incoming 4K image will be able to be viewed unscaled by scrolling on the embedded display. A speaker and headphone jack will allow monitoring of LPCM audio received on the incoming HDMI stream.
Like the 780, the 780A is a battery powered, portable multimedia A/V signal generator and analyzer that can quickly check the HDMI digital ports on devices such as HDTVs, projectors, repeaters, switches, distribution amps, A/V receivers, players, set-top-boxes, etc. Analog component video as well as SPDIF and TOS-Link audio inputs can also be tested.
The 780A combines versatility with ease of use at an attractive price. Contact your Quantum Data distributor or representative for ordering and pricing information.
