Quantum Data 882E Test Instrument Approved for HDMI 1.4 CEC Compliance Testing
Elgin IL – November 24, 2009 – Quantum Data™, a worldwide provider of video test equipment, today announced that their 882E-based CEC compliance test application for the HDMI™ interface, version 1.4, has been approved by HDMI, LLC as an authorized test tool. Quantum Data’s previous CEC compliance test tool has been an authorized test tool since HDMI 1.2A.
The HDMI, LLC-approved version of the HDMI 1.4 CEC test application enables developers of CEC-capable HDMI sources, sinks and repeaters to bring their products to market more quickly and minimize interoperability problems.
Operation of the HDMI, LLC-approved version has been simplified and runs more quickly than the previously approved version. The CEC compliance test runs on the the 882CA and the 882E when equipped with the analyzer option. It is initiated through the Compliance Controller which is a Java-based applet. A typical test suite can be completed in as little as 30 minutes. When a test series has been completed, the CEC compliance test application issues a detailed report that provides pass/fail results for each individual test. Reports can be viewed through a web browser, transferred over a network or printed.
In addition to the CEC compliance test, the 882E offers a debug application (CEC Controller) that helps identify and resolve CEC interoperability problems during development, prior to submission for compliance.
Orders for the HDMI-approved CEC compliance tool are now being taken. Contact your Quantum Data distributor or representative for ordering and pricing.
