Future software releases will include 297MHz HDMI analyzer for testing HDMI sinks as well

Elgin IL – May 2, 2012 – Quantum Data™, a worldwide provider of video test equipment, today announced the release of a new HDMI Video Generator module for the 980 Protocol Analyzer chassis. The new module supports testing of HDMI source devices up to 297MHz and provides standard pattern testing for HDMI sinks including tests for advanced feature such as deep color, 3D video, and 4:2:0 video (future) sampling mode. Functional testing for protocols such as HDCP and EDID are included as well.

In subsequent releases, the new HDMI module offer an optional analyzer (Rx port) for emulating a sink device. The analyzer will provides basic functional testing of HDMI source devices. This will enable comprehensive testing of HDMI repeater devices, extenders, splitters, etc. Other planned feature enhancements for the analyzer include timing analysis, pixel error testing to conduct more complete testing of source and repeater devices. An auxiliary channel analysis (ACA) option will be added as well to monitor HDCP and EDID transactions and CEC messages between the HDMI Tx or Rx interface and an HDMI sink, source or repeater device.

With the addition of the HDMI 297 Video Generator module along with the existing 980 HDMI Protocol Analyzer module, the 980 provides a comprehensive set of test solutions for HDMI source, sink and repeater devices including functional testing, compliance testing and interoperability testing—all in one box!
