Quantum Data Announces MHL Approved Compliance Test Suite for MHL 2.1 and MHL 1.3 CTS
980 Series release also provides updated graphical user interface
Elgin IL – July 19, 2013 – Quantum Data™, a worldwide provider of video test equipment, today announced the release of an updated MHL compliance test suite supporting both CTS 2.1 and 1.3 for source, sink and dongle devices on its 980 test instruments. Both MHL 2.1 solution suites have been approved by the MHL consortium.
Depending on the desired tests, a test point adapter and two 980 modules are used:
The comprehensive solution covers source tests in MHL CTS sections: 3.1 (partial), 3.2, 3.3, and 6.3; sink tests in sections 4.1 (partial), 4.2, 4.3, and 6.3; dongle tests in sections 5.1 (partial), 5.2, 5.3 and 6.3. For a complete list of supported tests refer to the 980 HDMI Protocol Analyzer data sheet and the 980 MHL CBUS Compliance data sheet. HDCP Compliance tests for MHL source, sink, and dongle devices are also available. The HDCP tests use the Quantum Data 882EA test instrument.
The 980 MHL compliance solutions are ideal for pre-testing and self-testing when permitted. They provide developers with the necessary test results and detailed capture logs to enable thorough investigation of anomalies. The test results and raw capture data can be disseminated to other colleagues and subject matter experts for analysis. The 980 test instrument is not required to view these results and captures—only the free 980 GUI Manager is necessary for remote analysis. Importantly, unlike other solutions, the 980 MHL compliance test solutions do not require third party external measuring devices.
MHL Adopters can download the official Method of Implementation (MOI) guide from the Extranet page at: MHL Consortium.
This 980 release also incorporates an updated graphical interface for accessing the rich set of applications and test solutions supported by the 980 Advanced Test Platform and its modules.
For a complete list of current test solutions for MHL, refer to the 980 MHL compliance modules: Quantum Data 980 HDMI Protocol Analyzer module and Quantum Data 980 MHL CBUS module.
